Satyaki Savarkar, the grandson of late Hindutva ideologue VD Savarkar, has filed a criminal defamation complaint against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a Maharashtra's Pune court. The complaint, filed under sections 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code, accuses former MP Rahul Gandhi of making false allegations against VD Savarkar during his address in London. In his statement, Satyaki Savarkar said that Rahul Gandhi had discussed VD Savarkar during his interaction with Indian expats in London, and that his comments were both false and intended to insult his grandfather. Satyaki Savarkar stated that V D Savarkar did not document such incidents in any of his books. He further added that the court should determine the source of Rahul Gandhi's knowledge on this matter and in which book he read about it.
