Tomorrow, BRS Member of Legislative Council Kalvakuntla Kavitha will lead a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The one-day hunger strike has been organized by K Kavitha, the daughter of Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao, who is currently embroiled in the Delhi liquor policy ‘scam’ investigation by the Enforcement Directorate. The purpose of the protest is to demand the introduction of the Women’s Reservation Bill during the current session of Parliament. Kavitha will lead the demonstration under the banner of Bharat Jagruthi, an NGO, and call for the immediate tabling of the bill. In preparation for the event, K Kavitha personally invited CPM national general secretary Sitaram Yechury to attend. During their discussion, they reportedly touched on other aspects of the deeksha besides those already in place.
