The Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, recommenced on January 24 from the garrison town of Nagrota with actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar. Matondkar, who was marching alongside Gandhi, was wearing a beanie and a traditional Kashmiri pheran that was cream in colour. Urmila participated in the Yatra despite having cut ties with the Congress party in 2019 due to "petty internal politics." The Bharat Jodo Yatra photos taken by Urmila have gone popular on social media and are receiving varied reviews from internet users. Additionally, Urmila Matondar shared a video of herself walking alongside Gandhi on social media. She tweeted, "Walk for Unity, Affinity, Equality and Fraternity."
