Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Punjagutta has given a needy patient a donor heart from a brain dead patient. The heart transplant was reportedly carried via a green channel from Yashoda Hospitals in Secunderabad to NIMS hospital. Successful heart transplantation was performed on the recipient, who had heart problems. Dr. Amreesh Rao served as the operating room's chief surgeon. The heart transplant procedure was done with the family members of the brain dead's agreement after a Jeevan Daan process. NIMS has been designated as the Appropriate Authority for Cadaver Transplantation (AACT)
