Imran Khan, a former prime minister of Pakistan, narrowly averted a plane accident on Saturday after the aircraft he was aboard experienced a mechanical issue and made an emergency landing not long after takeoff. Imran Khan, however, returned to Islamabad shortly after takeoff owing to poor weather, PTI leader Azhar Mashwani subsequently revealed. According to the preliminary investigation, the pilot requested an emergency landing and then made the landing after communicating with the control tower. Imran Khan was travelling from Chaklala to Gujranwala for a rally when the event took place. The Pakistan Daily reported that Imran Khan had to go by road to Gujranwala for his rally after the plane had to make an emergency landing.
