Nirmala: Panic gripped among the residents of villagers around Kadem dam in the Nirmal district and 17 out of 18 gates were lifted. According to the reports, the officials alerted the villagers and directed them to evacuate the villages. It is said that the officials lifted the gates and released the water into the Godavari, following heavy inflows. People from Kannapur, Kondukur, Pandavapur, Devunigudem and other villages were evacuated to safer places. TRS MLA Rekha Naik visited the Kadem dam. It is known that the catchment area received heavy rainfall for the last few days.
