Eluru: Tension escalated at G.Kothapalli village in Dwaraka Mandal, Eluru district after villagers attacked the Gopalapuram MLA Talari Venkatrao on Saturday morning. According to the reports, the issue flared up after YSRCP village leader Ganji Prasad was brutally murdered and it sparked a fight between two groups in the village. It is learnt that MLA Venkatrao visited the village to console the family members of the deceased and the supporters of Ganji Prasad attacked MLA citing he is the reason behind the murder. After getting the information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted him to a safe place. It is said that the MLA sustained some injuries in the attack.
