On March 30, the Board of Governors convened an emergency meeting to address the ramifications for Will, who won the best actor award for his portrayal in King Richard. Smith has been given 15 days' notice of a vote on his infractions and fines, and he has the option to respond in writing. The Academy's next board meeting is planned for April 18, at which time it may take disciplinary action.
