Hyderabad: RK Selvamani, renowned director and husband of AP Minister Roja, is now facing a non-bailable arrest warrant. The warrant was issued by the Chennai Georgetown Court due to Selvamani's failure to appear at a defamation case hearing. The case traces back to 2016 when Selvamani accused film financier Mukulchand Bothra of causing him significant troubles in an interview. In response, Bothra filed a defamation suit against Selvamani. Following Bothra's passing, the legal proceedings have continued with his son Gagan leading the case. Despite previous instances of Selvamani's absence from trial hearings, the recent failure to appear on Monday triggered the issuance of the non-bailable warrant. The judge expressed displeasure at Selvamani's repeated non-attendance, adjourning the next hearing to September 22.
