On Independence Day, Akshay Kumar announced that he is now officially an Indian citizen. He posted a photo of his new Indian citizenship papers on Twitter. In the past, some people criticized Akshay because he was a Canadian citizen. Even though he once said he had "dual citizenship" in 2010, he later talked about leaving his Canadian status in 2019 and getting an Indian passport. Celebrating the special day, Akshay shared: "My heart and citizenship, both are Indian now. Happy Independence Day! Long live India!" Akshay is presently basking in the success of his latest release OMG 2.
