YS Sharmila, the president of the YSRTP (YSR Telangana Party), made a significant decision on the birth anniversary of her late father, YS Rajasekhar Reddy. During an interview with TV9 media, she announced her candidacy for the upcoming elections in Telangana and confirmed that she would be contesting from the Paleru constituency, as previously indicated. Expressing her commitment to the people of Paleru, YS Sharmila pledged to bring forth the governance principles of YSR welfare. She vowed to prioritize the needs of farmers, provide housing for the homeless, and implement key social welfare programs, including fee reimbursement and arogyasri (healthcare) for underprivileged children. Emphasizing her connection to the late Rajasekhar Reddy, she declared, "I am Rajasekhar Reddy's child."
