Former Indian cricketer Praveen Kumar and his son had a fortunate escape from a severe car accident on Tuesday evening in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The ex-cricketer was reportedly involved in a collision with a fast-moving truck while he was returning home from the Pandav Nagar district. Despite the extensive damage to his Land Rover Defender, Kumar and his son escaped the incident unscathed. Police confirmed the detention of the truck driver involved in the accident, and an investigation into the incident is underway. This is not the first time the former right-arm pacer has had a brush with road accidents. A similar incident took place in 2007 when Kumar, just making his foray into the Indian cricket team, fell from a jeep. Praveen Kumar, recognized for his ability to skillfully swing the new ball in both directions, had an impressive cricketing career. He represented India in six test matches, 68 ODIs, and 10 T20Is, clinching 27, 77, and 8 wickets
