The long-stagnant southwest monsoon has started advancing again, bringing much-needed relief to people enduring soaring temperatures in Andhra Pradesh (AP). The monsoon, which had stalled at the Karnataka-AP border since May 11, began moving on Tuesday, extending its reach into larger parts of AP. As a result, many regions in AP have started experiencing rainfall accompanied by gusty winds. The Krishna, Guntur, and NTR districts have been particularly hit by heavy rains. The change in weather conditions has most significantly impacted parts of Mangalgiri and Tenali. The city of Vijayawada, which has been recording oppressive temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius for the past two weeks, saw substantial rainfall this evening. This sudden downpour resulted in widespread flooding across the city's roads. Despite the disruption, the rain was welcomed by the city's residents, offering a reprieve from the relentless heat.
