Srikakulam: In a heart-wrenching incident, a man from Santabommali mandal in Srikakulam district met with a fatal train accident in Odisha. Gurumurthy (60), a resident of Jagannadhapura village within the mandal, tragically lost his life while traveling on the Yeswantpur train on Saturday. Upon receiving news of the devastating accident, Gurumurthy's grieving family members rushed to the scene. The somber occasion was marked by the cremation ceremony, which took place in Odisha. Gurumurthy, who worked as a jute worker, was known to have been residing in Balasore. This unfortunate incident adds to the rising toll of train accident victims, with the current count reaching 288 fatalities. Additionally, over a thousand people have sustained injuries in the incident.
