Hyderabad: In a recent operation, the LB Nagar Special Operations Team (SOT) conducted a raid on a house in Vanasthalipuram, resulting in the arrest of an individual involved in cultivating ganja on his residence's terrace. The accused, identified as Sai Revanth Varma, was apprehended by the SOT after they discovered cannabis trees being cultivated at his home. According to the Vanasthalipuram police, Varma confessed to bringing the ganja seeds from Andhra Pradesh with the intention of growing them on his terrace solely for personal consumption. During the raid, law enforcement authorities destroyed a total of 11 ganja plants and seized cannabis seeds and wrappers found in Varma's possession. Following his arrest, Varma was handed over to the Vanasthalipuram police, along with the confiscated evidence. He has been booked under the provisions of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, and subsequently, a judicial custody order was issued.
