The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has decided to conduct a ninhydrin test to identify the fingerprints on the letter found at the site of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy's murder. The CBI officials sought permission from the CBI court for the same. Vivekananda Reddy was found murdered at his residence in Pulivendula on March 15, 2019. The letter, purportedly written by Vivekananda Reddy, was found at the site of the murder. The CBI had sent the letter to the CFSL in Delhi on February 11, 2021, for examination, which concluded that Vivekananda Reddy had written the letter under pressure. The CBI has also requested the CFSL to identify the fingerprints on the letter and suggested conducting a ninhydrin test for the same, which may damage the writing and ink on the letter during the examination.
