Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is planning to restore a 300-year-old stepwell located near Falaknuma bus depot, following the successful restoration of Bansilalpet stepwell. This stepwell is located adjacent to the Falaknuma Palace and was believed to have been used by the Nizam as a private swimming pool. Unfortunately, it is currently buried under debris and solid waste. On Wednesday, an MoU was signed between HMDA, GHMC, TSRTC, and SAHE, an NGO working to save lakes, to restore the stepwell. Officials had earlier held a meeting on April 3 with Kalpana Ramesh of The Rainwater Project, which had restored the Bansilalpet stepwell, along with GHMC and RTC officials.
