Social media users have been sharing a photo of a sunken plane in the Red Sea, claiming it to be the wreckage of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which went missing in 2014 with 239 passengers on board. However, fact-checkers have confirmed that the claims are false. The photo actually depicts a different plane, a Lockheed Martin L1011 Tristar, which was sunk off the coast of Jordan in 2019 to create an artificial reef, according to scuba diving company Deep Blue Dive Center. Despite extensive search efforts, no confirmed wreckage of the Malaysia Airlines flight has been found.
