However, after inspecting the site, the Mayor clarified that it was not an open nala but had formed due to erosion. She expressed her condolences and urged people not to blame the GHMC for the incident. The Mayor explained that road repair work was ongoing in the area, and workers had put up barricades to cordon off the work zone. Unfortunately, some shopkeepers had removed the barricades for their business, leading to the tragedy. She warned that notices would be issued to those who had removed the barricades.
