Hyderabad: An infant who was kidnapped from her mother's side while they slept on a footpath at Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad was rescued by Afzalgunj police on Friday. The police arrested two suspects, a woman identified as Jyothi from Maharashtra and her relative Vikas Kumar from Jharkhand. The accused planned to sell the two-month-old child. Police traced them using CCTV footage and found they were moving towards toddy compound in Falaknuma. Swathi and her baby were homeless and had been living on the footpath for two weeks before being moved to a care home in Secunderabad. The child has been handed over to the Women and Child Welfare Department's Childline.
