Telangana's new secretariat building is set to be inaugurated on April 30, 2023. The seven-storey complex spans 28 acres and boasts a built-up area of 7 lakh square feet, making it a symbol of the state's progress. The building will house the offices of the chief minister, ministers, chief secretary, and all other secretaries and heads of departments. Constructed at a cost of nearly Rs 650 crore, the impressive building features two massive domes, with the national emblem atop one of them, taking the building to its planned height of 278 feet. The main buildings, which are named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a leader in the Indian independence movement, incorporate Indo-Persian style architecture, and the inclusion of a mandir, mosque, and churches around the secretariat symbolizes the state's inclusiveness towards all religions. The new secretariat building is a reflection of the rich culture and traditions of Telangana. Resembling the White House, the secretariat features state-of-the-art facilities and stunning design elements.
