Hyderabad: YS Sharmila, the YSR Telangana Party president and sister of the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, has been granted conditional bail by the Nampally court in Hyderabad. Sharmila was arrested on Monday for assaulting a police officer while attempting to attend a protest in Jubilee Hills. Following her arrest, she was remanded in judicial custody and transferred to Chanchalguda Women's prison in Hyderabad. However, after a bail petition was filed by her lawyer on Monday night, the court heard arguments from both parties and granted her conditional bail on Tuesday afternoon. It is learnt that she is expected to be released from jail on Tuesday evening.
