Hyderabad: YS Sharmila, the president of the YSR Telangana Party, was sent to police custody for 14 days by the Nampally court and shifted to Chanchalguda jail. This came after she was detained earlier in the day for allegedly manhandling uniformed personnel. The police took YS Sharmila to the Jubilee Hills Police Station before producing her in court in Hyderabad. According to a complaint filed by police personnel, Sharmila was accused of assaulting a sub-inspector, ramming her vehicle into a police constable and causing him a leg injury, as well as abusing police officials. The incident occurred when the police tried to stop her from leaving her house for the party's protest outside the office of the SIT investigating the leak of question papers in recruitment exams by the TSPSC. The case was registered under IPC sections 353, 332, 324, and 509.
