Mumbai: A 23-year-old man from Nerul town, identified as Aditya Bhende, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after dragging a traffic policeman on his car bonnet for 10 kilometers in Vashi town. According to reports, Bhende jumped a signal and collided with another car before driving away, prompting the officer to give chase. When the policeman, identified as Siddheshwar Mali, 37, caught up with him and ordered him to step out of the car, Bhende accelerated and caught Mali off guard. To avoid being run over, Mali jumped on the car's bonnet and held on for nearly 10 kilometers, as Bhende continued to drive through traffic. The officer did not sustain any injuries during the ordeal. Bhende has also been charged with obstructing a public servant, reckless driving, and narcotics-related offenses. He was found to have consumed marijuana during a medical test conducted after his arrest.
