Atmakur legislator Mekapati Vikram Reddy recently confirmed that he will not be leaving the YSRCP, despite the suspension of Udayagiri MLA Chandrasekhara Reddy on cross-voting charges following the recent MLC elections. Vikram is Chandrasekhara Reddy's nephew, and he urged his supporters to refrain from spreading false rumours in a statement to the media. Vikram also expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who he referred to as an elder brother, for his support during a difficult time following the sudden death of Vikram's older brother Goutham Reddy. He stated that the people of the Atmakur constituency would never forget the chief minister's assistance in achieving Goutham Reddy's objectives and vowed that the Mekapati family would not tolerate any attempts to tarnish their reputation.
