Maharashtra: 5-year-old boy dies in leopard attack
Maharashtra: In a tragic incident, a 5-year-old boy named Harshal Karmeghe was killed in a leopard attack in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district. The attack occurred in Bormala village in Saoli tehsil, which is located approximately 60 kilometers away from the district headquarters.
According to a forest department official, Harshal was playing near his home when the leopard attacked him. His body was later found in a nearby forest. The Chief Conservator of Forests (Chandrapur) Prakash Lonkar confirmed the incident and announced that the victim's family will be given compensation of Rs 5.25 lakh.
The forest department has advised people to exercise caution while venturing into forested areas and to take necessary precautions to avoid such incidents.
