Karimnagar: In a surprising discovery, labourers working on employment guarantee in Gollapally village of Timmapur Mandal found silver coins, believed to be from the period of Mir Mahbub Ali Nawab Khan from 1869 to 1911. According to reports, the workers broke an earthen pot and shared the coins among themselves, but officials soon became aware of the discovery and launched an investigation. Tehsildar officials arrived at the employment guarantee work site in the village and ordered the labourers to hand over the coins to the government. Upon questioning, the labourers reported discovering a total of 27 silver coins in Gurigi. The officials seized the coins from the labourers for further investigation. The archaeological department was subsequently called in to examine the coins. They confirmed that the coins were indeed from the period of Mir Mahbub Ali Nawab Khan, a former ruler of Hyderabad State.
