Telangana's governing party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has proclaimed its nomination of three candidates for the state Legislative Council elections under the MLA quota. The candidates announced by BRS President and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao are Deshapati Srinivas, K. Naveen Kumar, and Challa Venkatrami Reddy. While Naveen Kumar has been selected by the ruling party for an additional term as MLC, the two others are new candidates. Srinivas, a poet and singer, is currently serving as Officer on Special Duty in the Chief Minister's Office, and Venkatrami Reddy is a former MLA from Alampur constituency. The Chief Minister, popularly known as KCR, has asked the nominees to file their nominations on March 9. The identities of the two candidates to be selected by the Governor will be disclosed after the cabinet meeting on March 9. Biennial elections for three MLC seats are scheduled to occur on March 23. The review of nominations will be conducted on March 14, while
