The new Secretariat building of Telangana state is in its final stages of construction. The government has set a deadline to complete the construction and finishing works by the end of this month, and as a result, the work has been expedited on all aspects. The design of the building ensures that there will be no traffic congestion around the Secretariat, Martyrs' Memorial, and Lumbini Park. In addition, the government is working on widening roads and developing the surrounding area. The seven-story Secretariat building, situated near Hussain Sagar Lake, will have a built-up area of over 7 lakh sq. ft. and will be equipped with all modern amenities. The cost of construction is reportedly over Rs 600 crore.
