India's Women's Under-19 Cricket team recently emerged victorious in the World Cup, beating England by 4 wickets in the final match held in North Sound, Antigua. 16-year-old Sonam Yadav, hailing from Firozabad and coming from an ordinary family, played a crucial role in securing India's win. As an all-rounder, left-arm bowler, and middle-order batsman, she took four important wickets in six matches and dreams of joining the senior women's team. Yadav's story is one of determination and struggle. Her father works as a coolie in a glass factory in Madhya Pradesh, and she developed an interest in cricket at the young age of 13. Despite facing many obstacles, including playing with boys, she continued to hone her skills and surprise senior players with her bowling abilities. Her talent has even earned her a spot in the Indian Premier League.
