Wanaparthy: A serious road accident took place on National Highway-44 in the Kothapet area of Wanaparthy district, where a speeding RTC bus overturned and injured 15 passengers. The authorities report that three of the injured passengers are in critical condition and are being treated at Wanaparthy Government Hospital. According to eyewitnesses, the bus was en route from Yadagirigutta to Tirupati when it lost control and overturned in a pothole on the Kothapeta bypass. At the time of the accident, there were 37 passengers on board the bus. Upon receiving the news of the accident, the police promptly arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations. The injured passengers were quickly transferred to the hospital for medical attention, while the rest were sent on their way in another bus. The police have registered a case and are investigating the accident. The initial suspicion is that the driver of the bus was driving under the influence of alcohol.
