In a heart-wrenching incident in Odisha's Koraput district, a 35-year-old man named Samulu was forced to walk several kilometres with his deceased wife's body on his shoulder after she passed away during their journey back home.

Samulu's wife had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Sangivalasa, Andhra Pradesh, where they were informed that she was not responding to treatment. Upon the doctor's advice, they began their journey back to their village, located 100 kilometres away.

However, tragedy struck when his wife, passed away mid-journey while in an auto-rickshaw. The driver then abandoned them on Chelluru Ring Road and refused to continue the journey, leaving Samulu with no other option but to start walking back to his village, still 80 kilometres away, with his wife's body on his shoulder.

Thankfully, local residents alerted Rural Circle Inspector TV Tirupati Rao and Gantyada sub-inspector Kiran Kumar, who upon learning of the tragic story, made arrangements to send Samulu and his wife's body back to their native place with dignity.
