Kakinada: 7 labourers suffocate to death in oil tank cleaning incident

Kakinda: In a heart-wrenching incident, seven labourers lost their lives in Kakinada district, Andhra Pradesh. The tragedy occurred at the Ambati Subbaiah factory in G. Ragampet, where the workers were cleaning an oil tank. The labourers went inside one after the other to clean the tank, but all of them fell unconscious due to suffocation and died.

The new oil factory under construction in G. Ragampet was the site of the accident. Two labourers entered the tank first, but when they lost consciousness, two more went in to rescue them. Sadly, all seven workers lost their lives inside the tank.

On receiving news of the incident, police rushed to the scene and started rescue operations. Unfortunately, the bodies of the labourers were recovered from the tank. Reports indicate that five of the deceased were residents of Paderu, with three of them believed to be from the same family.
