Budget Breakthrough: Telangana Governor and Government Settle Dispute

The dispute between Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government over the 2023-24 state Budget has been resolved through talks following a suggestion from the High Court. The court suggested both parties resolve the issue through talks, which resulted in the Governor giving approval for the Budget and the state Assembly session beginning with her address. The government withdrew its petition and the case was dismissed after both parties informed the court of the agreement.

The government, led by K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has approached the court due to the Governor's disapproval of the budget before the start of the state legislature's budget session on February 3. The previous budget was conducted without the customary address from the Governor, causing a strong reaction. The BRS government justified their move by stating it was not a new session but a continuation of the previous one.
