India Gets Its Own Nasal Vaccine, Booster Costs Rs. 800 Per Dose

India's Bharat Biotech has developed the world's first COVID-19 intranasal vaccine, called iNCOVACC. Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya and Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh launched the vaccine, which will be available to the government for INR 325 per dose and to private hospitals for INR 800 per dose. The vaccine received approval for a primary 2-dose schedule and as a heterologous booster dose in December 2022.

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation approved the restricted use of the intranasal vaccine in emergency situations for people 18 and older.
