Nitin Gadkari trolled for 6 air bags ad featuring Akshay Kumar

Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, has come under fire on social media for uploading an advertisement with actor Akshay Kumar that encourages the use of vehicles with six airbags. Many said that the advertisement supports the dowry custom.

Although the purpose of the advertisement is to encourage driving safety, the narrative chosen has caused the minister and actor to come under fire from the social media police.

In the ad, actor Akshay Kumar, playing a police officer, mocks a father for transporting his daughter, who had just been married, in a vehicle with only two airbags.

After Cyrus Mistry, the previous chairman of Tata Sons, died in a car accident, the advertisement was released.
