On Tuesday, Praveen Kumar Nettaru, a member of the BJP Yuva Morcha, was fatally hacked. He was attacked with deadly weapons by two unidentified bike-riding criminals, who then fled the scene. The BJP state chief Nalin Kumar Kateel's car was surrounded by demonstrators, preventing him from moving. Due to the high level of tension, the police intervened and used lathi charges to scatter the demonstrators. Hindutva organisations have called for a bandh in the communally charged coastal district's Puttur, Sullia, and Kadaba taluks in response to the murder. Ten special teams have been organised by the Dakshina Kannada police to find the offenders after filing a case. There have already been 15 suspects detained. According to reports, more suspects have fled to Kerala. In support of Nupur Sharma, an Udaipur-based tailor named Kannaih Lal who was murdered, Praveen Kumar allegedly posted content criticising secularists on social media. According to some Hindu community organisations, this led to the murder occurrence. Hindu
