Hyderabad: Centre launched the Agnipath scheme for the recruitment of soldiers in the Army under a contractual basis turned violent after the aspirants expressed their dismay. It is said that the scheme was launched to cut the salary and pensions bill. Around 40,000 to 50,000 soldiers will be recruited under this scheme and will offer their service for four years. Reacting to the issue, Flight Lieutenant Praveen said that around 40 lakh soldiers will be trained at borders during the four terms and they will become good citizens. He cited Israel as the best example. He said that he thought after introducing the Agnipath scheme, the recruitment will be decreased and it will not fill the positions in the army and later the Centre will revise the scheme.
