Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, a Telugu Desam senior leader and former minister, died after a protracted illness. He was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad when he died, and according to media reports, he died of a heart attack. Bojjala comes from Chittoor district and previously served in the Srikalahasti Assembly constituency. According to reports, Bojjala was elected as an MLA from Srikalahasti five times. In the former Andhra Pradesh government, he served as Minister for Environment and Forests, Science and Technology, and Cooperation under Chandrababu Naidu. TDP chief Chandrababu and Bojjala are reportedly close friends. Recently, Chadrababu met wheel chair bound Bojjala at his residence to celebrate his birthday and cut a cake.
