Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Buddha Venkanna announced on Wednesday the formation of a 100-member "suicide squad" to deal with people making disparaging statements about party President N. Chandrababu Naidu. Members of the suicide squad, he alleged, were willing to kill or be killed in order to defend the former Chief Minister and his family. He stated that they would not remain silent if opponents attacked Naidu in the goal of advancing their careers. Meanwhile, Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh chastised Buddha Venkanna for his statements. The minister was perplexed as to how anyone could talk of establishing suicide squads. He claims that Chandrababu is under attack from his own party leaders. The Minister reiterated that there is no need to target TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu. Jogi Ramesh, in response to claims that he targeted the former Chief Minister, stated that he initiated his protest in a democratic manner.
