Kishan Reddy’s Residence Hosts Sankranti Celebrations: PM Modi, Chiranjeevi Participate
During the celebrations, Modi performed traditional rituals, including offering prayers to the sacred Tulasi plant amidst Vedic chants by priests. Following this, he lit the Bhogi bonfire and offered food to the decorated bull, symbolizing the Gangireddu tradition. He also presented traditional garments to the Gangireddu performers and later made floral offerings to the deity. Modi watched cultural performances depicting the essence of Sankranti.
The Prime Minister shared a video of the event on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), wishing everyone a happy festival. In his post, he expressed hope for prosperity, well-being, and happiness for all. “May everyone enjoy good health, joy, and a bountiful harvest in the coming season,” Modi said. He further remarked that Sankranti is an integral part of India’s cultural and agricultural traditions.
