Kishan Reddy’s Residence Hosts Sankranti Celebrations: PM Modi, Chiranjeevi Participate

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended festive greetings to the people of the nation on the occasion of Sankranti. Modi participated in the Sankranti celebrations held at the residence of Union Minister Kishan Reddy in Delhi. The event saw the presence of Kishan Reddy and his spouse, veteran actor Chiranjeevi, and Union Minister Srinivas Varma, who welcomed the Prime Minister.

During the celebrations, Modi performed traditional rituals, including offering prayers to the sacred Tulasi plant amidst Vedic chants by priests. Following this, he lit the Bhogi bonfire and offered food to the decorated bull, symbolizing the Gangireddu tradition. He also presented traditional garments to the Gangireddu performers and later made floral offerings to the deity. Modi watched cultural performances depicting the essence of Sankranti.

The Prime Minister shared a video of the event on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), wishing everyone a happy festival. In his post, he expressed hope for prosperity, well-being, and happiness for all. “May everyone enjoy good health, joy, and a bountiful harvest in the coming season,” Modi said. He further remarked that Sankranti is an integral part of India’s cultural and agricultural traditions.
