Passport Appointments Now in 6-8 Days: Hyderabad Regional Passport Office
According to Snehaja, the Hyderabad RPO jurisdiction encompasses five Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) and 14 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) across the state. These centers collectively handled an average of 4,200 applications daily last year. Combining passport issuance with Police Clearance Certificate services, the office resolved a total of 9.02 lakh applications in 2023.
She further mentioned that in Nizamabad, general appointments are being made available by the next working day, while appointments at POPSKs are being provided within a week. In Warangal, the office handles more than 130 applications per day, while other centers process an average of 90 applications daily.
For Tatkal passports, Snehaja noted that they are being issued within 1-3 working days. General passports, excluding police verification time, are being processed and delivered within 5-7 working days. To address grievances, a special program has been conducted every Thursday in Hyderabad, where over 30,000 people personally reported issues last year. Additionally, more than 10,000 complaints received via email were resolved.
Highlighting the introduction of mobile passport services, she said a special van has been deployed to improve accessibility. She emphasized that the office aims to maintain better performance this year compared to the previous year. For the benefit of residents of the Telugu-speaking states, attestation and apostille services are also available at the Hyderabad RPO, she added.
