Hyderabad Police Arrest Man for Harassing TV Serial Actress

Hyderabad police have arrested a man for harassing a television serial actress. The victim, a 29-year-old woman from West Godavari district, resides in the Yusufguda area of Hyderabad with her children. The incident traces back to September of the previous year, when the woman met the accused, identified as Phani Teja, while working on a television serial. Their acquaintance gradually developed into a friendship.

Two months ago, Phani Teja allegedly proposed marriage to the actress. However, she declined, explaining that she was already married and had two children. Following this, the accused reportedly began harassing her under the pretext of love and marriage. He is alleged to have sent obscene messages and videos to her through WhatsApp.

The harassment escalated when Phani Teja obtained the address of the victim’s mother-in-law’s residence and reportedly visited the location to speak ill of the actress. Unable to endure the harassment, the actress lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police station.

After learning of the complaint, Phani Teja sent her a selfie video, reportedly admitting that he was responsible for the situation. Acting on the victim's complaint, the police arrested Phani Teja and remanded him to custody.
