Passengers Protest at Shamshabad Airport Over Flight Delay
Several passengers staged a protest at Shamshabad Airport after a SpiceJet flight to Prayagraj was delayed. Due to a technical issue, the flight was delayed by three hours, leaving passengers stranded without food or refreshments. Frustrated by the prolonged wait, passengers expressed their anger and engaged in a heated argument with the SpiceJet staff.

The passengers criticized the airline for failing to provide prior information about the delay. They argued that if there was an issue with the aircraft, the airline should have informed them in advance rather than making them wait at the airport without any updates. Many were particularly upset as they had already reached the airport, only to be kept waiting for hours without proper communication.

Adding to their frustration, today marks the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, which began on January 13 and lasted for 45 days. With a large number of devotees traveling to the holy city for the final rituals, the delay caused significant inconvenience. Passengers accused the airline of negligence, especially at such a crucial time when people were making their way to the grand religious event.

According to the Uttar Pradesh government, over 600 million devotees have participated in the Maha Kumbh Mela so far. The heavy rush of pilgrims to Prayagraj on the final day made the flight delay even more problematic for affected passengers.
