Swami Swarupananda: No God's blessings for AP, TS Govts

Kakinada, March 4, 2015: Visakha Sarada Peetam pontiff Swami Swarupanandendra Saraswati has castigated both AP and Telangana Governments for their unilateral decisions on Godavari Pushkarams. Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, the Swami remarked that both Governments have given up spiritual intentions in conducting the Godavari Pushkarams. "The two Governments have turned them into official functions. There is no spiritual touch or fervour to their decisions on Pushkarams, " he said, adding that both Governments would not receive God's blessings. The Swamiji has also questioned the AP Government's decision to conduct Srirama Navami festivities officially at Ontimitta. "Who authorised this Government to conduct the celebrations there?" he asked. It is disgusting to note that Governments are taking decisions on religious and spiritual matters without consulting religious heads and Pontiffs, he remarked and added: "Gods would never bless these Governments."
