National Institute of Design coming up at Mangalagiri

Mangalagiri, Feb 11, 2015: The decision of Union Ministry of Textiles and Commerce to set up the National Institute of Design, fourth of its kind in the country, at Mangalagiri is expected to boost up development in and around the temple town. The Institute offers Graduate Diploma Program in Design ( GDPD), a 4-year Graduate Programme and Post Graduate Programme in Design and a two-and-a-half-year Programme for post graduates. The NID has sought 50 acres of land at Mangalagiri to set up the institute and its CEO K.Mahesh is visiting the town to inspect the land on Feb 13. The presence of the Institute at Mangalagiri is expected to give a boost to the fashion designing and textiles industry in Vijayawada and Guntur. The other three are located at Ahmadabad, Gandhinagar and Bengaluru.
