CM Revanth Reddy Promises Land Allocation to Eligible Journalists
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has assured that the government will provide housing plots to eligible journalists in the state. This promise came during discussions with the representatives of the Jawaharlal Nehru Journalists Housing Society regarding the allocation of housing plots, alongside Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Media Academy Chairman K. Srinivas Reddy. The Chief Minister stated that he would sign the file on this matter within a minute if presented with a roadmap.
The assurance was given on Friday when members of the JNJ, including newspaper and TV reporters, met with the CM. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized the government's priority for journalists, noting that while no other institution in the state has a nominated chairman, the appointment of a chairman for the Media Academy alone signifies this commitment. He reassured that the promise to start allocating housing plots within 100 days will be fulfilled, for which media representatives expressed their gratitude.
The society was allocated 70 acres of land in the Nizampet and Petbashirabad areas by the Congress government 16 years ago. Despite the Supreme Court's orders to allocate the land to the society, those directives were not implemented. The representatives have been safeguarding the land since then.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister mentioned that discussions with the Media Academy regarding the allocation of plots to other eligible journalists in the state are underway. He also highlighted the focus on journalists' health security cards and other issues. Following the Chief Minister's orders, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy assured immediate decisions regarding the allocation of housing plots.
