Don’t sell vote for note: Man in Lord Balaji getup pleads
Munugode, October 30: It is common practice that political leaders allegedly lure voters with money and other gifts during every election. Even voters also enquire which party gives more cash and more gifts.
In the wake of Munugode bypoll, leaders of the three major parties are trying to woo the voters. In this situation, Kota Syam Kumar, a social activist from Karimnagar, dressed up as Lord Venkateswara Swamy and requested the people not to sell their votes.
Intellectuals, election officers and others however plead the people not to sell their votes during election, there was no use. Syam Kumar thought to open the people’s eyes in the get up Lord Venkateswara Swamy ahead of Munugode bypoll.
He is choosing two villages per day and explaining about the problems that will arise due to selling of votes. He is explaining to the public that they cannot question the leaders about any issue, if they sell their vote. He is displaying placards with the slogan, ‘problems doesn’t come easy to anyone, will come only if they sell their votes.’
Syam Kumar said, “I though none will listen to me even with a good intention if I say not to sell their votes. I hope that they will listen if Lord says so.” I expect at least some people will vote without taking money by seeing the God’s face, he added.
