The Andhra Pradesh government has announced major good news for unemployed youth across the state by releasing the “Job Calendar-2026” aimed at filling 10,060 vacant posts in various government departments. Principal Secretary of the Finance Department, Piyush Kumar, issued GO No. 81 on August 22, 2026, outlining the recruitment drive.
The appointments will be completed in four phases through agencies including the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board (APSLPRB), and District Selection Committees (DSC). The Cabinet approved the recruitment keeping in view priority areas such as infrastructure development, education, welfare, and maintenance of law and order, in line with the goals of “Swarna Andhra@2047.”
Recruitment Schedule
First Phase: 1,523 posts (Higher Education Department already issued notification on May 15, 2026).
Second Phase: 3,231 posts (Notification date: September 15, 2026).
Third Phase: 2,311 posts (Notification date: October 15, 2026).
Fourth Phase: 2,995 posts (Notification date: October 15, 2026).

This phase includes Group-1 services along with a large number of police vacancies.
Group-1 Services (149 posts):
Deputy Collector: 11
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP): 36
Assistant Commissioner (ST): 14
Municipal Commissioner Grade-II: 12
Divisional Development Officer: 35
Deputy Registrar (Cooperation Department): 10
Other key posts (3,082):
Police Department accounts for more than 1,500 posts, including Civil SI (182), AR SI (116), Civil Constables (542), AR Constables (205), Communication Constables (200), APSP SI (71), and APSP Constables (80).
Additional vacancies include Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (164), Assistant Statistical Officer (196), Firemen (158), Jail Warders (171), Horticulture Officer (45), and Executive Officer Grade-III (Endowments Department) (104).
Third Phase Details (2,311 posts – Notification: October 15, 2026)
This phase covers Group-2, engineering, and Prohibition Department posts.
Group-2 Services (673 posts):

Deputy Mandal Parishad Development Officer: 176
Goods and Services Tax Officer (GSTO): 40
Prohibition & Excise Sub-Inspector: 25
Sub-Registrar Grade-II: 7
Assistant Section Officers and Accountants in Secretariat and Heads of Departments
Engineering and other posts (1,638):
Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) – Irrigation (224), Panchayat Raj (100), Rural Water Supply (73), R&B (75), and others, totaling 428 posts.
Power sector AEEs: AP Transco (200), AP Genco (100), and DISCOMs (329), totaling 629 posts.
Others: Prohibition & Excise Constable (400) and Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector (50).
Fourth Phase Details (2,995 posts – Notification: October 15, 2026)
This phase is almost entirely dedicated to teacher recruitment through a Mega DSC.
School Education Department (2,991 posts): Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs), School Assistants, Instructors, and DEO posts will be filled via DSC. Subject-wise vacancy details will be announced in the respective DSC notification.
Adult Education: 4 Assistant Director posts.
As per the government order, concerned departments must immediately furnish vacancy details, roster points, and eligibility information to the recruiting agencies. The recruitment process must strictly adhere to the Presidential Order, reservation policy, and service rules, and be completed in a transparent manner.
This large-scale recruitment announcement has raised fresh hopes among lakhs of unemployed candidates in the state.
