KCR had seen Amitabh-starrer 'Abhiman' more than 50 times !
Hyderabad, Dec 28, 2014: Telangana Chief Minister KCR promised to take all steps needed for developing the film industry in Hyderabad by 100 times. Addressing an august audience of film personalities and cine goers after giving away the Akkineni National Award here Saturday evening at a glittering function, KCR said he never expected he would give away an award to a super star like Amitabh Bachchan. "Amitabhji is a great actor. He never acts. He lives in his roles. I had seen more than 50 times 'Abhiman' that starred Amitabhji. It is a moment of pleasure for me to present this award," he said amid a thunderous applause. KCR said he would soon talk to top film personalities on steps to take to develop the industry further in Hyderabad. Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, who initiated the award , said his father ANR asked him to watch Amitabh movies when he had expressed a wish to enter the industry. "Even my father spent time watching Amitabh movies during his last 30 days," said Nagarjuna. Amitabh, in his acceptance speech, said the industry has gained fame and respect because of the legendary actors like ANR.
